Free Student Insurance
As part of our continued service to our students, we are now offering free student contents insurance and rent guarantee insurance.
Contents Insurance
The student contents insurance is an "open door" policy which basically means that even if your front door is unlocked, the house is covered.
The cover is as follows:-
Personal possessions (Total sum insured) £3500
Desktop computer equipment £1500
Laptop and portable computers £1500
Accidental death of a parent or guardian £5000
Landlord's property/tenant's liability £5000
Legal liability £1000000
Personal accident £10000
Fraudulent use if debit/credit cards £500
Theft of personal money £50
University property on loan £500
Rent guarantee insurance
You will be insured for up to £5000 for rental payments in any one term of tenancy in the event of being unable to continue to pay rent for specific causes, i.e. if you become temporarily totally disabled as a result of Sickness or Accidental Bodily Injury and are unable to continue on your course at University and remain in your rented accommodation, or if you are unable to continue on your course and remain in the rented accommodation because of the death of a supporting parent or guardian.
